Saint Laurent Rive Droite Los Angeles welcomes American artist Rae Klein for an exhibition curated by Anthony Vaccarello.
Well-known for her surreal oil paintings depicting Man's primal struggles against Nature and self, Rae Klein scans old catalogues and family albums, distorting and layering these images to use them as source material for her paintings.
She captures a sense of déjà-vu in her work, playing on the timelessness of her subject matter and the dreamlike quality that characterizes her painting style.
Klein's work is a haunting representation of the subconscious: horses, dogs, faceless eyes, and floating candlesticks are all recurring entities of this space between fantasy and reality.
Her work has been shown at Art Basel Miami Beach (2024, 2022), Dallas Art Fair (2024), and Art Brussels (2022).
In parallel with the opening of her solo exhibition at Nicodim Gallery, a selection of Rae Klein's paintings will be exhibited at Rive Droite Los Angeles from February 18 to April 7.
