Ada Marino's poetic work is rooted in her southern culture.
Born and raised in Naples, Marino witnessed the patriarchal domination that surrounded her for most of her upbringing.
This particular context has had a profound influence on her work and the underlying reflections she wishes to convey through photography. Investigating socio-cultural phenomena that involve deviant behavior and identity structures, Marino's practice embraces the causes, concerns and gender issues to which women are subjected, as well as the everyday stereotypes they must confront.
Ada Marino therefore celebrates complexity, power, resilience and beauty in the truth and imperfections of life fragments. Marino is currently based in Wales.
